HOUSING

The tournament directors request that all participants competing in The Glenbrooks stay at the tournament host hotels.  Hotel blocks have been made at the four sites listed below.  Please make your reservations early. Identify yourself as a participant at The Glenbrooks.

Registration, social functions, and Monday elimination rounds will take place at the Hyatt-Deerfield.

Hyatt-Deerfield (1-847-597-460) (Note:  As of October 18, this hotel block is sold out - try one of the other properties listed below)

  • This is our primary host hotel - tournament registration, receptions, and debate elimination rounds will take place here.  $88 per night per room.  Rate includes high speed wireless internet access in rooms. Hilton Northbrook (1-847-509-7020 OR 1-800-HILTONS)

  • This is hotel is 1 mile from Glenbrook North HS and 2 miles from Glenbrook South HS at 2855 Milwaukee Avenue, Northbrook, IL.  $98 per night per room.  To make reservations call the phone number and mention the block name:  The Glenbrook Speech and Debate Tournament or use the reservation link at http://www.hilton.com/en/hi/groups/personalized/CHINBHF-GSD-20081120/index.jhtml.

Embassy Suites (1-847-945-4500 x 579)

  • All reservations should be made via email.  Please email Room List to valerie.fiore@hilton.com.  Across the street from the primary tournament hotel. $110 per night per room. Rate includes a buffet breakfast starting at 6:00 am and high speed internet access.  Gino’s Pizza is now open in the hotel.  Conference suites are available for $185 per room per night.

Marriott Courtyard - (Glenview 1-800-321-2211 OR 1-847-803-2500)

  • Recently Completed Renovations! Room rates are $85.00 a night.  To reserve king rooms, use this form.  To reserve double-double rooms, use this form.  Rate includes high-speed internet access.  This site is one mile from GBS and offers an additional rate that includes breakfast.

TRANSPORTATION

Flights

We strongly recommend flights into O’Hare airport, not Midway. O’Hare is
approximately eight miles from the tournament; Midway is 45 miles in Chicago traffic.

Rental Cars

Transportation will not be provided by The Glenbrooks.  However, special tournament rental vehicle rates have been established with Ace Rental Cars - one of the only vehicle rental companies in the Chicagoland area with fifteen passenger vans.  They also have a large fleet and can provide any size vehicle needed.

Examples of Ace’s special tournament rates are:

  • Full-size - $30.95 per day
  • Minivan (7 passenger) - $56.95 per day
  • Full-sized SUV (8 passenger) - $105.95 per day
  • 12 Passenger Van - $119.95 per day
  • 15 Passenger Van - $109.95 per day
  • All vehicles are 2007/2008 model year vehicles (or newer) with automatic transmission, power windows, AM/FM stereo and CD players.  Rates include Unlimited Mileage and vehicles are provided with a full tank of gasoline.  24/7 access to ACE in the event of emergencies or assistance.

Ace Rental Cars is located immediately off the O’Hare property (as a result, their tax rates are much lower).  They have a shuttle that will pick you up at O’Hare for the quick ride to their rental facility.
